  1. There is a fine balance between the judiciary and the democratically elected government. I think Israel has a similar problem to the UK where government can't implement policy that they have a democratic mandate for because the courts have the final say on government policy. Whoever is in government in the UK won't be able to stop the boats for example because the courts will always block their actions.

  3. The government in the UK has a democratic mandate to stop the boats coming. However they can't stop the boats coming because the democratically elected government isn't in charge, the courts are.
