  1. ​ @jake751 Until the attacks of October the 7th last year Israel hadn't occupied Gaza since 2005. The Palestinians in Gaza held elections and elected Hamas. The rest as they say is history.

  2. I'm sure a ceasefire will come that isn't the problem. The problem is who's going to govern Gaza. The people of Gaza won't accept Jewish people living there or governing them and other Arab countries are scared to get involved. I'm sure Israel will be very pleased if the Egyptians just annexed Gaza but I don't think they want that particular problem.

  3.  @fozthepoet8274  I would say that the reason why the Egyptians and Israelis have built a huge barrier around Gaza is to keep them out rather than keep them in. Goods going in and out of Egypt and Israel are controlled by the Egyptians and Israelis respectively but both parties try to stop munitions getting into Gaza. The danger posed by the people of Gaza isn't imagined as we we saw in October last year. The Egyptians have also suffered terrorist attacks.

  4.  @fozthepoet8274  Luxembourg is a similar size to Gaza but the Belgians and the Germans and the French haven't built barriers to keep them out and the reason is because the people of Luxembourg don't want to eradicate the people in neighbouring countries.
