  1. Probably with the help of the Nazis whose program was being sabotaged by the allies. A Nazi submarine brought heavy water to Japan for development of an atomic bomb.

  2. The Japanese people didn't leave the cities after being warned because the Japanese military didn't allow them to. It was against their moral code to run and hide rather than stay and fight.

  3. Ironically, the Japanese were more afraid of the Soviets destroying the asian continental armies and attacking the Japanese mainland than the atomic bombs flattening their cities.

  4. Because they have thousands of years of social development over us. We've only been here for a few hundred years and 248 years as a nation. I think that they got us beat.

  5. Sounds like a taxpayer scam. In Albany, NY the city bought up properties for the construction of a new civic center even though they already had one that wasn't doing very well. Of course the plan fell through and the city was stuck holding properties that they paid exorbitant amounts of money for sold to them by speculators that bought cheap and sold high.
