  2. Gun design: Like most inventions of the 20th century, they really haven't seen any revolution in design or function and have yet to be replaced by anything in the next step of evolution. I.e. the last revolutionary design of firearms was the case shell design of the bullet. They went from flintlock to percussion to shell. It has yet to be improved on. Airplanes went from piston driven to jet engines. They have yet to be improved on.
