  1. Many people have commented on the effectiveness of the allied bombing campaign. I had a customer who had photo albums of reconnaissance pictures of German cities after bombing runs. There were probably 30 or so pages per album and probably 6-8 albums per box and the boxes were stacked three high, fwo deep and six long just to give yoh an idea of the volume of photographs. The cities were totally devastated. I don't care who you are that campaign had to have an effect on the populous. Imagine not knowing when you can take a shower much less drink safe water, eat a hot meal, work in a place that hasn't been flattened, sleep under a warm dry roof and get around streets filled with debris. It had to have an effect.
