Short term minded people not realizing that by taking advantage of the situation, they are leading the demise of their neighborhoods. Crime will shift to individuals.

Crime is down because they aren't arresting anyone for small crimes.

Once the retailers are gone, crime will shift to people breaking into individual's houses and apartments.

When I sit in the doctors exam room I always think, could I live in this space? Like the Japanese apartments you have a bed above a couch, a kitchenette, shower toilet combo like a small RV with some cabinets for storage. TV on wall across from couch where friends can crash. What more do you need?

What good is a tax credit?

Shoplifting may be a misdemeanor but if they are fined, say $250 or $500, for stealing a package of toothpaste, what do you think the chances of that person shoplifting again? Think of the revenue for cash starved cities!

To buy down New York State's interest debt.

Of course there is a startup cost and maintenance cost. Plus less vehicles mean less revenue. NYS is good at spending $100 just to make $10.

NYC is a joke. I live in upstate NY and have a 1,000 square foot three bedroom, one bath house built in 1921 that I bought for $65,000. Mortgage, taxes, insurance and utilities I'm in for just under $900 per month. Did I mention that the 1/4 acre property also has a two car garage and a shed?

This is why New Yorkers go out a lot and only use their small apartments as crash pads. 💲💲💲

They say that rent should be 25% of your salary. A person would have to make $13,000 per month or $156,000 per year for this to qualify for that.

When I owned an older mobile home that I used as a camp, I realized that I only need about 500 square feet of space to keep from going insane. A kitchen/living room combo. A small bedroom/den, a bath and a bedroom. The place was 10' wide by 50' long. Only used it in the summer but I imagined what it would be like winter.

How about non plug in hybrids? I drove a Toyota Camry hybrid ten years ago. It charged while braking, got 45 mpg and had a lot of pep on the open highway.
