When I grew up in Washington. They had a saying.... You will see a lot of things everyday in Seattle The sun isn't one of them.

I grew up in Vancouver Washington '50-'68. Portland is where we went to appreciate that you don't live in Portland.

@dh2392 Lets see... Credit check (650 or above), background ck, Deposit .... And first months rent. Of course you also need internet access and a smart phone just to apply. And can you tell me where someone with little or no income can find affordable housing ? It must quite the place to live. I will move there.

@mikebezanson6229 God hating ? Well there goes your credibility. You act like any of this stuff is new or restricted to blue states. It's not ! EBT ? You do know who wins when ever a new program is created that helps people ? CAPITALISM does. Every dollar ends up in the hands of a capitalist at some point. Such economic programs just shield the country from the darker side of capitalism.

@dh2392 I would love too hear how you would handle the problem.

@dh2392 So lock them up. Then put them back on the street. Rinse and repeat. We have been doing that for yrs. That wasn't working either. If you think we have a problem now. Its about to get much worse. And it wont be drug addicts. It will be minimum wage workers. It takes 4 incomes just to pay for a 3 bedroom duplex here. And rents are going thru the roof.

@dh2392 I know. It's so unfair that they get too live this ideal lifestyle. To live in a tent, if you are lucky, for yrs. Not knowing if you will eat today. And many people today are just one paycheck or injury away from being homeless. Not too mention the vets that have issues from all the wars we have had. Now you have paying tenants being kicked out so they can jack up the rents. Shades of the Irish potato famine. Greed has more to do with our current issues than anything else.

@dh2392 For some reason the issue has gotten so much worse in the last 2 yrs. Hmmm ! I wonder if something has become a problem during that time. I am seeing more working poor on the streets than ever before. While we have always had a homeless issue. This is something we haven't seen since the 30's. I became disabled 40 yrs ago. And luck kept me from becoming homeless. Lucky that I had my veterans benefits or I couldn't make it either. Even then I am just one problem away from being homeless myself.

@dh2392 I haven't been to Seattle since 1968. Grew up in Vancouver Washington. The weather didn't suit my needs. So I ended up just outside of Sacramento. Great weather, if you can call smoke weather. I can't see any one moving to Seattle voluntarily. Not the one I knew at least. No matter where I have roamed. I always ended up back here.

Brandon Marshall You apparently have no idea how stupid that sounded. Besides, you have no idea how I respond too my community. Or that I am so full of myself that I would spend money on a damn iphone. I have a sense of responsibility that requires me to help anyone that asks for it. Within my ability to do so.

Brandon Marshall Oh, you have so much commitment in your position that you hide behind a wall. Your opinion is as empty as your channel. Get some balls and actually show that you are more than just an Internet ghost. Or is your world view too embarrassing to actually put your face on it. I refuse too hide my world view behind a wall. You can't have sky high housing costs and a ridiculous credit score system without it creating more people that get left behind. Shades of the great depression. There are more homeless everywhere. It's not just a local issue.

Brandon Marshall They have no real reason to stop the housing issue from getting out of control. Considering how much more money they can make off it in taxes. Gentrification is quite profitable. But, highly destructive to society as a whole. But, the effect is quite clear in the number of homeless it has created. Even at 6000 a month I would have trouble finding a place I would qualify for. And even having pets are becoming an issue. With huge pet deposits required. 300 dollars per pet, plus an extra 30 per month for each pet.

Brandon Marshall So where did you end up ?

Brandon Marshall Stuff ? You have to be more specific. Beer, pot and some damn good music. Hell yes ! No better way to end the day.
