Sorry but you are wrong .The Queen did not give Royal Lodge to Andrew but he does have a lease on the property which he paid for .The lease was granted on the basis that Andrew would be responsible for all repairs to the property but he has not been conscientious in observing that requirement which is why he was asked to consider vacating Royal Lodge by the Crown Estate and not his brother the King. I gather work has now been started on the roof but it is unclear what other urgent repairs are needed and if Andrew can afford the general upkeep.

@tdwagner1 Your sources are wrong I am afraid. Andrew purchased a long lease on the terms I described and it is his failure to observe the terms which are at issue. Royal Lodge is a large property with approx 30 rooms and , I believe , 98 acres of gardens which is very expensive to run.

@dittohead7044 This issue about Royal Lodge is actually nothing to do with Charles as it concerns the Royal Estate .The media have tried to drag the King into a dispute with Andrew but in fact he has tried to help his brother . The property in question was not gifted to the Duke of York.He lives at Royal Lodge in accordance with the terms of a lease he negotiated after the death of the Queen Mother .In accordance with the lease he is responsible for all repairs and unfortunately he has neglected them for some years. Work is apparently underway on the roof but there are other urgent repairs needed I believe . I think people do not understand that Andrew has got his affairs in a mess and like a good brother Charles is trying to help .
