Fortunately for the migrants the majority qualify for permanent residence in the UK .We need to change the law and Ms Patel does not seem to have got round to that.

Gail I am not certain Anne would want a return to government at her age .She deserves a peaceful retirement but I am.pleased her views are respected by young people .

@deenieteenie3934 she has opinions but I do not know if she has the support within her party to climb the greasy pole. I think her sex probably counted against her because she is no Maggie Thatcher.

@1951ducky Anne became a Minister but did not last long. I do know how the world works ducky and sexism is alive and well all over the UK , USA ,China , India etc .

@johnb6723 I do not know or care where she is from but I do know she is not doing an adequate job as Home Secretary. There must be more talented people in the Tory Party than her and Boris really ought to seek them out before it is too late.

@anthony387 I might suggest a reception centre in Glasgow or Aberdeen rather than the Sandwich Islands .Shetland might also welcome the investment but seriously why not take a vote on this issue ?

Something needs to be done to reduce the human misery I see on the borders. My heart bleeds for families living in squalid conditions and needing nourishing food.

@angelaread4462 the people here do not have to cope with violence , injustice and starvation though I agree our society is not fair to those who are not born in the right bed.
