Cat Co the Queen arranged for the Harkles to be granted a short lease of 2 years renewable annually and her elder son has decided that the lease can't be renewed .What is controversial about this decision given the former tenants barely used the property which recently had more than 2 million pounds spent on it .

@MBI-si4ip Charles is not the owner of Frogmore Cottage but he is a Trustee who has to ensure the property is well maintained. Leaving a house unoccupied , unheated and unlit for many months or years is going to result in damp and possibly worse problems .I think Charles has been sensible and that H M the Queen would have taken the same decision given the circumstances .

@leslie-annmills-gomez8763 Money was certainly spent ( over 2million pounds ) but it is likely the bill was paid by Harry's father .

@cybersal7 I agree it would be difficult to protect Catherine and William as Frogmore Cottage is not very far from Adelaide Cottage which is currently their family home .It is such a pity that MM has turned into a Security risk and can not be trusted near George , Charlotte or Louis.

@PrairieWonders I gather Charles loaned the money to his younger son and is waiting for the money to be repaid to him. It's good that H & M are so committed to financial independence .

@MBI-si4ip By the way the property is probably worth 2 million pounds or more if it could be sold freehold or for a long lease perhaps 1 million 5 hundred thousand and I am surprised you regard it as worthless ; I would be happy to live there.

Somerset Girl the Harkles were offered a large apartment next door to William and Catherine but decided they did not want to stay in the Kensington Palace complex .They asked the Queen to give them a wing in Windsor Castle but apparently she said No. Frogmore Cottage was in need of refurbishment but H & M decided they wanted to live there and a large sum in excess of 2 million pounds was spent to convert it into a modern residence to their tastes .It appears that MM never intended to stay in the UK and really she was just taking the mickey making a fuss about where they were going to live .

@peteregan7864 Exactly .Just more click bait.

Ethane 's husband isn't it a shame that so few people experience the Harkels behaving like civilised human beings .

Prince Andrew is an elderly man and he is entitled to live in a comfortable property and not to be insulted by people with no sense or feeling.

@susivarga7303 I think Child Support may not be a problem .

@rightherethereeverywhere The differences between Catherine and MM are obvious to all and nothing emphasises this more than Nottingham Cottage where the Prince of Wales lived for a couple of years with his wife and eldest son. There was no whining or moaning from Catherine but MM gave the impression that she hated their London base. Yes as usual the Harkles forgot to mention that they also had a weekend retreat in the Cotswolds and MM also failed to say that she moved into Nottingham Cottage shortly after meeting H and that it was allocated to him as bachelor accommodation.

@harry liar Spent by whoever runs the properties on behalf of the Trust. I do not think Charles was involved until the Harkles decided that they wanted Megxit.

@mreale2811 Exactly .The property was redesigned to suit the Harkles.

@denisecampbell-baldwin4287 I was trying to be ironic and sorry you didn't notice.

@shh5627 Andrew was in a more vulnerable position in that Virginia had a photograph of her with Andrew which confirmed that they had met .The Jubilee celebrations also placed him under pressure to settle out of Court because he did not want to spoil his mother's pleasure in her achievement. Bill Gates marriage ended because his wife learned of his visits to Epsteins Island but Bill Clinton appears to be completely unscathed as you suggest.
