@philn8122 The world is suffering a nervous breakdown as a result of conflict and Climate Change though the recent Pandemic did not help either . I do not think there will be any return to normal anytime soon.

@ianwarnes6197 Ian we will have to wait and see what happens in Germany. I think the German government will find it was never a practical scheme and was designed only to deter a few Migrants approximately 500 I seem to have read.

@Clarice-e6g The migrants who seek sanctuary in the U K are fleeing War Zones and the effects of Climate Change but I do acknowledge that there are some people who just want a better life.

The U K government is tackling crime and is taking a perfectly reasonable approach .What is insane is that it has taken Politicians so long to take a coherent view of the exploitation of vulnerable people .The Rwanda plan was never sensible or cost effective but it was a distraction from the failure of the Tories .

@Noneyabusinessok You are right but nevertheless we have a Labour Government with a substantial majority . It is time to stop moaning and to get on with life just like the Labour supporters have for the last 14 years .

@Noneyabusinessok I can only disagree because the members of the Labour Party have coped with the disappointment of losing elections with patience and dignity. We are currently being treated to the unedifying spectacle of Tory hysteria and basically calls for assassination of our Prime Minister and I am sick of the endless moaning and negativity. If we want to live in a decent country then every citizen needs to put in an effort and hold the government to account in accordance with the law. I have never lived in Northern Ireland and am unable to know if you are giving an accurate description but I can assure you that in England while there was disaffection with Tory rule there was no extreme behaviour until Thatcher decided to take on the Miners .

@Noneyabusinessok Thank you for your lengthy response which contained much food for thought. I think the main reason migrants are employed above the native population is that they actually apply for jobs and will often take a low salary to get a toe in the door. Many people prefer the indignity of claiming benefits to taking a lowly job and I do not think you can claim prejudice when it is a matter of choice .
