  1.  @Anna-tw3dd  The Russian invasion of Ukraine has caused damage to the whole world and the damage increases as the days go by. Putin has to be persuaded that his only option is to withdraw his troops and missiles etc and to discuss his next steps with the diplomats from the U N, Ukraine and NATO. Does Putin want to be the man who ended human occupation of the planet ?

  9.  @STHFGDBY  I disagree . WW2 gave rise to the dominance of the U S A which is not a wholly good thing. It gave Russia delusions about its importance and role in the world leading to the invasion of Ukraine. War is a very costly way to resolve a dispute and mankind should have outgrown violence.

  16.  @jayizquierdo9534  I accept the U S A might prefer war in Europe but the fact remains that it was Russia which attacked Ukraine firstly in 2014 and for the next 8 years when it launched a major strike. I am willing to accept there might have been some provocation by certain Ukraine citizens but we now have a situation where millions of people are going to die of starvation because essential foodstuffs are trapped in Ukraine. We need peace now to prevent further death, wounding ,rape and pillaging by Russian soldiers.

  17. Eef I have run out of patience with you and concluded you are some type of Bot . Russia applied to be a member of NATO on several occasions but it was unable to qualify .Just because its applications were turned down does not mean war is a likely outcome . Lavrov keeps on changing his mind suggesting some weeks ago that it was not the Russian intention to invade and then parroting his Masters Voice. I find Lavrov to be a complete and utter creep who is untrustworthy .

  24. @Hari H If NATO sticks to its founding charter ( being a defensive organisation) there is nothing to fear or dislike. Russia is an aggressive Country and wants to destroy NATO because it has an ambition to be top dog ruling the whole world. Imagine no freedom of expression, a Tsar who can rule without constraint , economic decline , corruption, state media only ; life hardly worth living unless you ate an Oligarch.

  27. CHum first of all Russia is a dangerous country with a huge army plenty of weapons ,a nuclear arsenal and a tyrant who stops at nothing to achieve what he wants. As far as I know Ukraine is not a member of NATO or any other defensive alliance but it is a poor country with the potential to improve if sufficient investment takes place. I know NATO has helped Ukraine with weapons and training but I do not believe there are bases in the country at all. Taking your example of a householder I see it it like this. I am living in a small house next door to a huge estate. I am aware my rich and powerful neighbour wants to expand by absorbing my house and I do not want to sell. I buy a gun and take out insurance which he regards as provocative acts and he launches an attack. My insurance company helps me with ammunition and legal advice / sanctions but nothing stops my neighbour. How do you think I feel. Russia is a vindictive bully and no one has launched any military attack against it .An attack may be desirable because this bullying and aggression cannot be allowed to continue.

  28.  @harrisiskandar8356  Russia did invade the Crimea in 2014 ; at the time Crimea was part of Ukraine . The NATO powers imposed some sanctions on Russia at the time but clearly insufficient to deter the tyrant Putin . I pray he has an eternity in hell to repent of his cruelty .

It is easy to be anti American but it is even easier to be anti Russian .At least the U S A does have an independent Press and an independent Judiciary.

The U S declared war on Japan who were allied with Germany at the time. The Germans then declared War on the U S A and that brought America into the Second World War .
