@stuartthornton3027 I think she thought H was seriously rich and able to keep her in the style she dreamt of but her research was not thorough enough and William was not interested. It is all rather tawdry and certainly has absolutely nothing to do with public service .

@stuartthornton3027 I think you put that very well .She probably could not envisage that H's family are concerned about the heritage passed down from generation to generation .
