@Vorraboms I think your agenda is becoming clear and I do not support it. Ukraine was once part of the U SSR and the population remember the privation experienced under Russian control .The Ukranians want a better future for their children and grandchildren with membership of the E U .Membership.of NATO is seen as a protective measure because the danger of an invasion by Russia has always been clear. Putin wants to govern in his normal manner with corruption at the top of the agenda.He does not want his people to see a Ukraine that is prosperous and safe from his army hence his interference in Crimea and the border provinces over the last 8 years. One day Russia will get rid of the Communist legacy and become part of the World but clearly not yet.

@Vorraboms Fear can make people take risks or behave illogically. Russia is equivalent to a bogie man to the people and government of Ukraine and to other countries bordering Russia. The history of past interaction with Russia and the bellicose behaviour of Vladimir Putin tempts most small nations to opt for membership of NATO and to be honest that is completely understandable. The fact remains that Ukraine is not a member of a NATO and is a poor country compared to Russia .The invasion was completely unnecessary and even Putin would acknowledge that Russia was not in any danger . I agree with President Biden that Putin needs to be replaced immediately if the Russian economy is not to suffer long term sanctions. The incoming President needs to be a complete contrast to his predecessor by acknowledging the failure of the attack , the refusal to inform the population of the War , the corruption presided over by Putin and the failure of democracy .He or she will have an enormous job reforming every aspect of the political and economic life of the Nation making Russia fit to associate with the rest of humanity.
