@alsimanche exactly. look at israel equally fanatic with religion .... high birth rate. ding ding ding

@pisangmelinjoe34 birth rate is measured by fertility rate, not % of population. in aceh's case it's an average of 2.4 and up to 3 in some cities which is similar to israel level (2.9). learn the difference before wasting other people's time.

@FarhanNetizen_62 aceh's fertility rate is 10% above national average. i know it's an asian thing to be polite but it's much better in the long run to point out your opponent's lack of education.

@alsimanche education, women's right and the rise of the middle class all leads to lower fertility rate. these 3 interrelated factors also chips away religiosity

@pisangmelinjoe34 what are you basing the increasing religiosity on, besides personal impression? This is why education is important to balance the availability bias. indonesia already have more minorities in congress and govt ministries. minorities are also increasingly prominent in media making them more acceptable to the rest of the country. A shrinkung critical mass of radicals using bigger megaphones do not translate to increasing religiosity.

@pisangmelinjoe34 when you are broke and forced to stay home, ofc religious observance are enhanced 😄 the pew one iirc correlates income with religiosity - which confirm my statement. like i said.... personal impressions aka confirmation bias. the single biggest determinant (negative correlation) of piety is $$$. Feel free to look at as many studies as you want. even perpetrators of terrorism (the ones blowing things up, not the ideological financiers) are largely the poor.
