@vsharma78 at some point you might want to admit that democracy isnt compatible for a developing country. just think about it ..... that bureaucracy, blind nationalism, pandering to the uneducated masses, inciting animosity to get elected, nearsightedness all leads to corruption and making slow progress in an expensive - unaffordable - manner. countries make quick progress under unity, a common language, shared values, one vision and standardized systems; not individualism. does india have any of these traits?

@vsharma78 take a look at democracy vs authoritarian capitalism at the micro level and conflicts of interest. you have to understand that both system inevitably result in cronyism because power need to be shared for incumbents to remain in office. absolute power residing in one man is a myth, even dictators need friends to govern vast regions and cooperation from the rich to grow the economy. once you accept that reality, the debate comes down to *results*: which system is politically secure enough to plan long-term? which system allows rapid correction and learning from mistakes? which system has the political capital to unite the country in a common goal? every rags to riches story after the colonial era starts with some form of authoritarian regime. industrialisation of japan starts with the emperor, economic liberalisation of south korea starts under the military junta, export orientation of taiwan were well under way during kuomintang rule, singapore was/is ruled by capable civilians with authoritarian powers to make reforms and lastly china under the ccp who learned from their compromised data integrity (famine) & isolationist policy.
