@samgyeopsal569 it's worth it, now more than ever. today it's democracy and tomorrow it's a foreign military base under sovereignty rights. every inch lost will be an inch gained by foes. had taiwan float across the pacific ocean and sat next to hawaii, then it's a completely different story. had china been a democracy, the fight for reunification will still be there as murica had long backed taiwan's military junta before the first elections in the 90s.

@wynn3077 if everyone do have the right to self-determination per the un charter catalan will leave spain, donbas will leave ukraine, belgium will be split into two, basque will leave france, scotland will leave the uk and a couple more splits & mergers in the balkans (with more sovereign muslim states in the heart of europe) ...... 😳but we dont live in that world.😳 ps: this is also one of the reason most of the world dont recognise taiwan & kosovo

@samgyeopsal569 the 3 countries you mention wont be attacking china even with the forced takeover of taiwan, esp the philippines who also have secessionist problems of their own. there will be no skirmish short of outright declaration of independence. tbh half of taiwan wont fight either esp those voting for kmt. time is on china's side and, if im the ccp, i will bide my tine. i can also see france spain and maybe italy not helping at all. the last thing these countries want is encourage self-determination on their own soil. take a look around, the world is a huge cesspool of hypocrisy.
