seen anyone defect to poor countries? ppl move to richer countries because of the higher pay, maintained streets, clean water, being able to afford a car, getting nflx for an hour's work etc. thats why we see chileans poles slovenians move in droves to greener pastures. kuwait emirates qatar are ruled by sultans with strict religious laws, yet some 80% of their population are foreigners --- they also have gdp per capita comparable to europe.

@Cosmo1093 defectors are wayy different than tax dodgers & pehdos. the expats in southeast asia & mexico are there temporarily and rarely covet citizenship. citizenship of rich gulf states are desired with many remaining illegal for decades just as the latinos in murica -- difference is one needs to be wealthy or distinguished to be granted one with a huge drawback of learning arabic. travelling away from a childhood basement helps with these things.
