  1. chips are relatively easy to reverse-engineer and the production diversification problem would all but cease to exist within 5 years. the us is picking a fight with china just as they did with vietnam japan iraq libya. anyone with a brain could just imagine where the situation is reversed - chinese military aid to cuba catalonia flemish basque ireland and chinese warships patrolling the waters off europe & america under freedom of navigation. one misfire and a justification for civil war by proxy. it's simple really.
