i am not really a fan of globalism, moving production and know-how to other countries is just a bad idea that only favors a few rich business owners. I would prefer to see some more protectionism from the EU.

@r3dpowel796 we can introduce measures that will make it harder or more expensive to import from certain countries. No one is going to outsource if it isn't profitable.

@johanhirte9661 the problem with outsourcing is that quite a lot of innovation happens on the production floor. So in the long term, we're not just moving production, but also research and development. So we will not only lose the ability to produce something domestically, we will also fall behind on innovation.

@r3dpowel796 i'm sure china can innovate on their own, but that is not the point. It's about Europe losing the ability to produce and innovate in the long run, because a few wealthy business owners can make some quick money by exploiting cheap labor in Asia.

@r3dpowel796 yes it is our problem, and that is why we have to do something to fix it. And the easiest solution is to raise tariffs on imports from China. It is not about punishing China, it is about protecting our own industries.

there will never be a win-win relationship between China and the EU. China is going to be the next russia, a failed investment that we will come to regret sooner or later.

there's no reason to compete or join, china has been losing a lot of money on these projects anyway.
