Germany has already stopped importing russian gas.

@@kzgntosbaga6255 better than supporting russian imperialism.

give it a little time. Russia has to increase the military budget by 70% next year, just to keep up. Russia can't afford that for long, and the war is not going to end any time soon...
5
@musiconabudget3712 you have no proof to back up that claim 😄 Norway is taking over as Germany's main supplier, supplying half of Germany's gas in 2023.
4
@musiconabudget3712 is it? China's exports have been declining all year. None of this is good for china.
4
it was russia's choice to start the largest war in Europe since ww2.

@seanlander9321 22M m3 of LNG is around 12 BCM of natural gas. The EU consumes around 400 BCM per year.
3
@BatkoNasBandera91 my point is that the increased imports of russian LNG is not that significant. Overall imports of russian gas are still reduced by 2/3 in less than 2 years. It will probably take another year or 2 to fully replace russian gas, and then we can focus on the "cheaters".
3
russia is trying to change the borders of Europe by force, that makes russia the biggest threat to peace and stability in Europe.
2
@ИванМартыненко-и3б the sanctions are not going to be lifted in this decade. Unless russia leaves Ukraine, but that seems unlikely now. So enjoy being the north korea of Europe, it will probably last a few decades...
2
@randomguy4116 ok? how so?
2
EU didn't buy much russian LNG before the war, since there was pipelines. If you have $2 and you get $1, that's a 50% increase. But it is still a very small amount.
2
when russia leaves Ukraine of course.
1
@ericp1139 proof?
1
@randomguy4116 you know that the economy of the EU as a whole is still growing, right? 😉
1
@АзсъмАлександр kan du lide rødgrød med fløde på, din hjernedøde ruski trold? 😄
1
increased military spending will do that. It's great until you have to pay for it...

@fingerprint8479 russia's neighbors have applied for NATO membership, because they feel threatened by russia. If russia could stop invading their neighbors, there would be no need for NATO.
1
@Gerrard_Pike2008 russia used to supply around 40%, that is the same amount that was used for power generation. So russian gas can be replaced by any energy source, such as solar, wind, nuclear, hydro-electric, coal, biogas or even wood pellets. And we can increase imports from other countries, such as Norway who are supplying half of Germany's gas imports in 2023. It's not that hard, it just takes time to build up new supply chains.
1
@Gerrard_Pike2008 true, it will take years to complete. But the reliance on natural gas will decrease every year, the market share russia has lost will never come back.
