  1. Most people don't want to work another goddamn year no matter what their ages. Guess what? Economics is not about what you want and don't want. It's what works and what doesn't work. And right now we have about 1/3rd of our population (minors and elders) depenedent on the other 2/3rds. That's historically unprecedented.

  2. For most of human history, this is how it worked. Most people died before retirement. When Social Security was first invented, the life expectancy was 64. Now we spend about 1/3rd of our lives (first as minors, then as elders) being taken care of by someone else. That's unprecedented in human history.

  3. I guess conservatives hate young people to because most of them don't want to work but guess what? Economics is about what creates a functioning society, not what you "want." We more than 1/3rd of our lives dependent on others in modern society, first as minors, then as elders. That's unprecedented in human history and not sustainable.
