Why did they kill so many civilians? In part because they knew people like you would blame America for every death. You encouraged all this violence. How else do you explain bizarre events like the July Soccer Bombings that seemed to target no particular sect and were just to "get attention."

Reading the April 2004 poll on the issue. 61% of Iraqis said the war was "worth it" for overthrowing Saddam, 28% said "not worth it", 9% said "not sure." It wasn't until sectarian violence kicked into high gear in mid-2006 that you changed your tune.

You know the actual US man in Iraq, Allawi, who was hand-picked to the lead the country before the elections, came in a distant third in his run for Prime Minister. But you love to make hate America so facts don't matter to you. And if the US just wanted oil, why wouldn't we have simply lifted the oil embargo on Saddam.

  6. Everyone in the West thought the Afghan was "the good war" back when it was launched, so they're in no position to talk. Besides, Afghanistan was already at war when the US invaded (Northern Alliance vs. Taliban), and their population doubled during our "occupation." Not to mention 80% of the civilians killed were killed by the Taliban according to the UN.

They were killed by people who knew people like you would blame their deaths on their American enemies, thus turning their atrocities into propaganda victories. How else do you explain such bizarre events as the July Soccer Bombings, which seemed to target no one in particular. Sentiments like yours created a perverse incentive that allowed violence to spiral out of control.

  9. Grouping all invasion together is as simple minded as grouping all domestic rebellions together, you sound outright disingenuous. Russia seeks to annex pieces of Ukraine. America never annexed Iraq. We let them elect their own government even it meant Sadrists serving in parliament. An April 2004 poll showed Iraqis believed the invasion was worth it for ousting Saddam by a margin of more than two to one (61% said "worth it", 28% said "not worth it", 9% said "not sure"). It wasn't until mid-2006 when sectarian violence kicked into high gear that they changed their minds. They mass murdered each other, blamed Americans, and then pretended they never wanted to be liberated.
