Yet nobody has even considered taking FDR's statue over this, because his victims were white. So we reserve the right to do the same with Tammy Duckworth. She was a patriot once, but now she's decided to side with the enemy. No one is saying we should ignore the darkness of America's past and you know it. But the fact that we are even considering taking down Washington over slavery shows this country is being held hostage by ethnocentric black Marxist radicals. To put it in perspective, FDR helped bomb Dresden, which is considered one of the worst war crimes in human history. Tens of thousand of German civilians were burned alive by his command. Yet no one has even considered removing one of his statues over that.

If you think someone can go hungry in a country where the most poorly paid laborer makes more than in an hour than half the planet makes in a day, you've been imbibing some anti-American propaganda at the very least. At HEB you can buy a loaf of bread from $1.28 so don't give me that "cost of living" cop out. Also, Walmart, the biggest, most evil corporation in the US, makes only a profit margin of about 1.2%. Hardly "robbing the poor."

There will always be poverty because people keep redefining poverty. In 1950 the life expectancy was 65, the median house size was 1100 feet, and the average family spent 30% of their income on food, yet we say those were "the good old days".

  37.  @aetropose5405  But no one pays taxes, much less 30% taxes, who's making $7.25 an hour. And very few people work minimum wage. And of those who do, very few live on their own. And they almost certainly live in very low income neighborhoods where a studio apartment is about $250 a month. Where I live, minimum wage is $7.25 but even McDonalds pays $10.75 an hour.
