πΊπΈ πΊπ¦ I'm a conservative who doesn't throw my mind, my country, and my morals under the bus in the name of partisanship. I remember what our party used to be.

The Western world 1940: "We shall not flag nor fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France and on the seas and oceans; we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on beaches, landing grounds, in fields, in streets and on the hills. We shall never surrender and even if, which I do not for the moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, will carry on the struggle until in God's good time the New World with all its power and might, sets forth to the liberation and rescue of the Old." The Western world 2023: "A three month stalemate? Lol I give up."

Not losing. Ukraine significantly ground down Russia's claims during the first 9 months of the conflict. Now the war is in stalemate at worst. And if we can arbitrarily quit due to a stalemate, so can Russia.
5
People say we should quit this war because of this stalemate. But if we can arbitrarily decide to quit now because of a stalemate, so could the Russians.

Russia isn't all bad. They help us fight ISIS. I would be willing to forgive them, but not appease them. If the US looks weak, unable to stick by its promises (we promised to defend Ukraine in return for nuclear disarmament in 1994), Taiwan may be next. Its critical for world peace the US not look weak.

I cannot believe the kind of anti-Americanism that has infiltrated the Republican Party in this day and age. Reading these comments makes me ashamed to be a Republican.
2
So appeasement?
2
Β @operator9858Β Zelensky agreed to stay out of NATO in return for peace about a month into war. Russia refused his offer.
2
The overwhelming majority of Ukranians support this fight, according to the latest available data.
2
Are you f***ing kidding me? The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians support this fight. I can't believe I'm alive to see the day such ruthless anti-Americanism has infiltrated the Republican Party where you'd spin the war that way.

Banks invest in things. Wars blow things up. It's not good for banks when the business they invested in gets blown up.

Β @bradleyheights5905Β Thank you. Are you a Republican or Democrat? I can't tell from your comment.

Don't you dare put an American flag in your post. You hate this country, that's the only reason you support Russia in this war. At least when Democrats hate America they can admit it.
1
I think you really mean πΊπΈ π₯π₯π€¬ At least when Democrats hate this country they are honest about it.
1
Let's not get carried away here. Russians are still humans. Many of them are living in ignorance.
1
Right because there totally wouldn't be a war going on if not for Biden. π

The Bush family runs an armaments company? What's it called?
1
Yes, the Nazis led by a Jewish President.
1
I don't like Putin but genocide is a word used too liberally these days.

Don't you dare put an American flag in your post. At least when Democrats hate America they are honest enough to admit it.
1
Let's be real here. People saying: π·πΊβ€ Really mean πΊπΈπ₯π€¬ Most of you don't care about Russia or its cause, you just hate America.

Good lord, it's amazing how anti-Americanism has thoroughly infiltrated both parties in this day and age. There's no evil you won't accuse America of. Does that really sound like a sound election strategy for even the most ruthlessly self-interest politician? Support a war you know will fail so you can slightly increase your campaign donations from the MIC?
1
1) "Giving them the equipment they needed" would have been a massive sell to the MIC. 2) The US spends 4.09 billion on lobbying every year. Only $127 million is spent by the military industrial complex. Stop with this cynical, mean-spirited hogwash. No one is going to intentionally wage a failed war for donations from the MIC.
