I don't think our "struggling" would impress the average Nigerian, or even the average American in the glory days of 1950 when the life expectancy was 65 and the median house size was 1000 square feet.   10. Oh come the f*** on. The biggest medical issue among impoverished Americans is OBESITY. A loaf of bread in America costs less than what our most poorly paid laborer makes in 20 minutes. Americans will always be "struggling" no matter prosperous this country is.

We spend 6 trillion a year on our own people and all it leads to is rage, bittereness, ingratitude, and demands for more and more and more. No way another 95 billion would suddenly make you happy. I salute the moral courage of our politicians, spending this money in a way that can make a real difference in the world, even when its not fashionable.
