  1. It doesn't cause "inflation" per say, because the overall the value of the dollar stays the same. What it causes is "inflation for the poor." You can see this with rent prices. Rent in high wage areas is always way higher than low wage areas. Other prices are higher too (anyone who's been to Manhattan even before the minimum wage hike knows this), but rent is most noticeable. This is why the rich often work in high wage areas and retire to low wage areas.
