  2.  @ajd0101  Deep down inside I think we all know having a police officer on the street corner is more likely to stop a crime than a paved road or an up to date history book. It's fashionable to say criminals wouldn't commit crimes if they just got better educations, but does anyone really believe that, when push comes to shove? It's not fashionable to say, but education is so overrated. Even something like computer programming doesn't REALLY require more than an 8th grade education and some specialty training. Social programs increase criminality, because the biggest consequence I think a criminal really fears is how their record will look on a job resume, and social programs make you less worried about not getting a job.
