  16. The socialist elements of Scandinavia are not what makes them succeed. They are fairly ubiquitous. The Czech Republic has universal healthcare and two years of paid maternity leave. What's uniquely Scandinavian is their far-right elements. Scandinavian countries have very flat tax rates (in Sweden even people making $37,000 a year pay 60% taxes), very little economic red tape, and school choice.
