@travelingjohn69 We don't try to deny it. We just point out that others did the same. That's not justifying it. Nick Cannon said white people are born with a unique, genetic predisposition to evil. How many more people would believe that if we didn't point out that things like slavery, conquest, etc. were not unique to white people?

Yet they never say that about any of the other videos that involve horrible atrocities.

"PEOPLE WANT TO PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED!" No. African enslavement happened and it was shame. What people want is for it to stop getting special treatment, as if it were the only historical evil that was truly evil. Note the disclaimer at the beginning of the video. TIS didn't feel the need to provide this before talking about the horrors of Mao's China, Imperial Japan, Roman Slavery, etc. even though the historical toll on human life was roughly the same. That's just a small example of a much larger cultural trend. People blaming slavery for hardships of today is a much more noticeable example. No other historical atrocity is blamed for problems 150 years down the road. Not the Holocaust, not the Mfecane, NOTHING.

thirstpolice No it wasn't. It started when Bernie Sanders said "Yes, all lives matter" and got shouted down for it.

A respectful disclaimer that's missing in every other video about historical horrors. Funny how that works.
