Victims of pedophilia often become pedophiles themselves, which is to say people with a strong and exclusive attraction to prepubescent children. Being molested as a small child can ruin your life. It just makes me so angry when I see people bastardize the term to include sex with pubescent teenagers: you're taking one of the most damaging acts you can commit to someone and treating it like a taboo as arbitrary as the drinking age. To say it's all the same because "kids can't consent" shows how far our society has fallen. A horse is as dumb as a 1 year old, but you don't say a horse is a victim if its put to stud. Pedophilia is wrong not simply because kids can't consent, but also because its an unnatural act.

Pedophilia is sexual attraction to prepubescent children. How fucking low has society sunk when we think puberty is irrelevant to sex!? There's no way you don't find underage girls attractive because the idea of 18 as the cut off for adulthood did not exist in any society prior to about 100 years, and no one's sex drive is calibrated according a definition of adulthood that was invented 100 years ago and has no basis in science or biology. You can take your disingenuity and go straight to hell.

It's apples and oranges. Male and female bodies have different sexual "hotspots" because we evolved to fill different roles. For example, men show tremendous interest in women's legs, but women show almost no interest in men's legs. Women should tremendous interest in men's biceps, but men show almost no interest in women's biceps. Etc.

Girls as young as 13 sneak into the Russian modeling industry so Joe is obviously a lying coward. There was no society on Earth that even considered 15 a child prior to about 100 years ago. No one's biology is calibrated with 20th century morality in mind, and if it was then he wouldn't have found 15 year old girls attractive when he himself was 15 because that would be wrong on two levels.

@croswell5009 But what is a "child"? There is no brain development milestone that happens at 18. I'm not defending fondling anyone against their will, or blowing 8th graders, but I can't bring myself to believe pedophilia, if its really as horrible as society portrays it, is just something as arbitrary as the drinking age. It has to be some kind of crime against nature. A horse is far dumber than any child, but you don't assume a horse put to stud is scarred for life because it had sex.

"Attraction to minors". Seriously? I'd think you all people would know what pedophilia was really about. Pedophilia is about puberty, biological adulthood. You were a prepubescent individual molested by pubescent/post-pubescent individual. Minors are just people below a completely arbitrary age that society pulled out its ass in the 20th century to designate a time when people were wise enough to deserve full freedom and accountablity. It's thinking like yours that makes people say "OMG HOW DO WE PROSECUTE THIS THEY'RE BOTH CHILDREN!" when we get cases like a 15 year old molesting an 8 year old.

When Dr. Phil brought parents of a 15 year old pedophile on his show, did they mean the kid was attracted to his peers? There are 8 billion people in the world and not a single one has a sex drive calibrated around a definition of adulthood (18) that has no basis in biology and was not embraced by any society in all human history until 100 years ago.
