I have so much genuine hate in my heart over the way society has bastardized the term pedophilia, as if we can take one of the most ancient and widespread taboos in human history (even Ancient Rome, which was a perverts paradise, had laws against doing a girl under 12 or boy under 14) and hijack it to pretend it's something as arbitrary as the drinking age. Everyone knows what pedophilia really means, because if someone said "I realized I was a pedophile at 14 year old", no one is going to think that means he felt attraction to his peers. But most people feign ignorance to save face, and pretend to believe it has something to do with the modern, legal definition of adulthood.

It's 100% impossible anyone sex drive is calibrated around a definition of adulthood that has no basis in biology and wasn't used by any society in all of history until about 100 years ago. Real pedophilia is attraction to pre-adolescent children.

When Dr. Phil had an episode about a 15 year old pedophile on his show, did anyone in the entire world think this meant the 15 year old was attracted to his peers? No. Everybody knows pedophilia means attraction to preadolescent children.

Most men are attracted to people who meet the legal definition of childhood because the legal definition of childhood is not based on biology and was not embraced by any society in the entire fucking world up until 100 years ago. However, most men are NOT attracted to what would have been considered a child for 99% of human history.

  9.  @rurupyon5686  This hogwash about manipulation is just an excuse to vilify people for being icky and creepy. We never take this sort of thing into account in, say, criminal sentencing. If two people commit a crime, we don't try them based on the relative age of their accomplice. If an 18 year old can consent to be sent to war by a 65 year old man, he/she can certainly consent to sleep with one.

  13. Victims of pedophilia often become pedophiles themselves, which is to say people with a strong and exclusive attraction to prepubescent children. Being molested as a small child can ruin your life. It just makes me so angry when I see people bastardize the term to include sex with pubescent teenagers: you're taking one of the most damaging acts you can commit to someone and treating it like a taboo as arbitrary as the drinking age. To say it's all the same because "kids can't consent" shows how far our society has fallen. A horse is as dumb as a 1 year old, but you don't say a horse is a victim if its put to stud. Pedophilia is wrong not simply because kids can't consent, but also because its an unnatural act.

You were a prepubescent individual molested by pubescent/post-pubescent individual. Minors are just people below a completely arbitrary age that society pulled out its ass in the 20th century to designate a time when people were wise enough to deserve full freedom and accountablity. It's thinking like yours that makes people say "OMG HOW DO WE PROSECUTE THIS THEY'RE BOTH CHILDREN!" when we get cases like a 15 year old molesting an 8 year old.

When Dr. Phil brought parents of a 15 year old pedophile on his show, did they mean the kid was attracted to his peers? There are 8 billion people in the world and not a single one has a sex drive calibrated around a definition of adulthood (18) that has no basis in biology and was not embraced by any society in all human history until 100 years ago.
