Thanksgiving does not celebrate genocide. People use The Mystic Massacre which was honored with a Thanksgiving feast to trick people into believe this, but 1) this was not the first Thanksgiving, as Thanksgiving feast were a Protestant tradition brought over to the New World 2) The Mystic Massacre had nothing to do exterminating Indians, as the pilgrims were simply taking sides in a war between the Pequot and Wampanog 3) The scene that became popularized in our culture was a feast between pilgrims and Wampanog 16 years earlier.
