Anyone who thinks the Slippery Slope is a fallacy only needs to look at abortion. Ten years ago people would never believe you if you said Democrats would vote to protect abortion up until the moment of birth. Now only did the overwhelming majority of Democrats vote to support that after Roe vs. Wade was overturned, but just last week every Democrat in the House of Reps save for one voted for legal infanticide for abortion survivors.

The slippery slope happens all the time. It's just that its either 1) short lived because people realize how crazy they got or 2) we're living at the bottom of said slope and thus consider our slide down the slope a good thing. The executions during the French Revolution are an example of slippery slope 1, and the way abolition of slavery led to full racial equality (something most abolitionists vehemently denied it would at the time) is a good example of slippery slope 2.
