  1. ​ @timekeeperz6584  Affirmative Action is insulting and patronising, people don't need to be given a leg up, they need to earn their place on merit. Challenges are part of life and how civilisations progress and grow. Without healthy competition, how can people feel they've earned their place and have confidence that they competent at what they do rather than feel they have been patronised because of their colour or gender, rather than their skills.

  3. ​@Thea Green A black person may also question whether they have earned their place by merit or been "allowed" a spot because of race, gender or sexuality. It doesn't help confidence in one's own ability, and it's insulting to imply they couldn't make it on their own merit.
