  2. This assumes there is only one option for a god. If you believe in your specific god and die only to find out you've worshipped the wrong god, do you think you'll have any more mercy than the atheist?

  3. ExuberantRaptor Yes, but this is a question of freedom. People's futures shouldn't hang on the line of a language that isn't necessary. You have to learn Swedish and do well at it or your average will go down and that could just be the tipping point to you not getting as good of a future education.

  7. I was completely unaware that the concept of a higher being was possible until I was asked "Do you believe in god?" when I was in school. I had to go home and ask my mum "What's a god and do I believe in it?" and she told me that only I know what I believe in.

  10. Important taboo for visiting Finland: DO NOT TALK TO STRANGERS. Small talk between strangers in non-service situations is basically a "Screw your personal space" to most people.

  11. I don't think self describing agnostics are necessarily "cowards" or whatever but I definitely have massive disrespect for the specific fence sitting type (also in politics) who go "every side is stupid!" and then proudly sit on their high horse.

  14.  @sebastiantiainen2749  A: Swedish learning for Finnish speakers starts past an age scientifically proven after which learning languages gets significantly harder. B: Unless you think the rest of society needs to cater to <5% of the population further than already speaking a common Lingua Franca, this is inevitable no matter how unfortunate it is.

  16. If we play the population part do you genuinely think that Swedes in Stockholm or Malmö should all have to learn Finnish because 5% of the Swedish population speaks Finnish natively?
