Comments by "E B" (@eb2505) on "Australia can return to ‘golden period’ of housing policy" video.
I remember the golden period being in the 60's, when my father on one salary, could pay off a home and support his wife and 4 children. The lies labor tells beggars belief. The government having shared equity means the 'home owner' is now directly controlled by the government. If you think the last 2 years were bad, just wait till they own a large stake in your home.

@Mark-f7o True. But the government is the one in control. This is part of their socialist utopia.

@Mark-f7o I hope enough people are awake to not do so. This isn't just another normal election. If people really think things will turn for the better by voting in a major party again, then they have learned absolutely nothing from the last 2 years. The results of this election will determine whether we survive as a people, and as a nation, it is that serious.

@Mark-f7o You are not the only one. I am also a Christian. Aside from that, Australia One sees this for exactly what it is.

@johnwoodrow8769 From what I understand also, the land developers have a deal with the politicians to restrict land thus forcing up its price and they all get a cut. Why not have a truly effective decentralised model where outer regions like Leongatha, Paynseville etc. can thrive as remote centres of trade?

@johnwoodrow8769 I've only visited them, never lived there. There are certainly issues to be worked through to see them reach their potential - I think tax incentives, which is A1's focus, is one metric to be applied. I'm sure with the right hears and minds in place a lot more could be done than what we see at the moment. It is interesting that in the US, the states that languish are democrat controlled - that is what socialism will do. In Australia socialism exists on both sides of politics.

@johnwoodrow8769 Well, I am hoping that at some stage, if A1 gets enough power that they will function in a way that will see prosperity restored to this land. I would agree that parties that operate to the current status quo will definitely not get the job done. A1 genuinely wants to do something about this.
