  2.  @TheVIKASHHH  I wouldn't be too quick to come out and say those things. If anything it is a serious loss of face for a society that normally goes to extraordinary lengths to prevent that. I'd say more than likely they came to an understanding of sorts to prevent the onset of WW3. Will we ever find out those details? I don't know, but I suspect someone has worked very hard behind the scenes to prevent that, and we should all be grateful for that, even to China who could easily have fulfilled its promises. I've been critical of Xi in the past, and am still critical of him and his CCP regime , but he made the right call, and I am grateful to him for that and whoever else in the US worked to prevent this escalating.

  3. Maybe they can just send in a sniper to take her out - that might be more diplomatically feasible. They'll likely win a lot of friends in the US too, so it may have some ongoing benefits.
