I don't think the ending of life should be in the hands of those who have had a part in creating it. It is indeed a moral issue, but only moral people see it that way. It is an indictment of our society that has seen what was once seen as being a moral issue , relegated to being merely a health issue. Granted, there may be some rare exceptions which don't fit the mould , but even in those situations it is still the termination of life.

For a start you assume that a majority want it, yet there are at least 36 states in the US that have said they will follow suit, with another 4 to join that. That means you are wrong, at least in the US , about a majority wanting it. It also means the minority are just a very vocal bunch of misfits. We should not run society for a minority of misfits and leave out what the majority truly feels about this. In Australia, at least 50% of the population identifies as Christian - that is likely to mean that at least of half of Australia would likely be against abortion - maybe even more, because I believe Muslims and Budhists are also against it. The conclusion I draw is that it is your opinion in support of the minority that is irrelevant. It also shows how deeply flawed our democracy is things as fundamental as life can be voted on in favour against it. Consider also that your inane comments would never have seen the light of day had your mother taken your position and then consider that you are a hypocrite.
