GDP in construction represents the sum of the costs-incurred and the incomes-earned in production, and consists of compensation of employees, taxes on production and imports, less subsidies, and GROSS OPERATING SURPLUS. Keywords are 'gross operating surplus.' In principle, it includes the (separately itemised) increase in the value of output inventories held, with or without a valuation adjustment reflecting average prices during the accounting period. It's also one of the reasons China has a LOW to MID value added economy and cannot move up in to a HIGH value added economy, which is what the US is.

A loss of a trillion dollars per year just to say 'look at all this HSR we stole from other countries.' The funniest part is thousands of kilometers are being converted back to regular rail, no HSR, because they're bankrupt. Only in China. 😮

The gov't LOSES 1 trillion dollars per year just trying to maintain the massively overbuilt and massively under used HSR. I wonder how the rural people feel like when what very little they have is being used to support a facade for bragging rights? Who needs food, clean water or an actual education for your children when you can brag about having the most costly transportation in the world? Smfh.

@acheable many civil, lower level gov't employees, contractors, some police officers, etc, etc, haven't been paid for over 2 years now. As far as young people being their "greatest asset," I would agree but they are also deep in to the fastest population collapse in human history because of the 1 child policy that was brutally enforced for over 35 years. There's a reason the gov't has a complete blackout on all negative news and shows only communist propaganda. Your heart's in the right place but the situation is becoming so dire that it's just a matter of a few years left until the nation could dissolve.
