  1. The US provoked the war in the Ukraine because it wanted to shut down Nord stream and impose sanctions that would destroy Russia. The reason France and Germany want to provide security guarentees is so they can resume buying cheap Russian gas. The USA would never allow that. It doesn't matter if Russia agrees, if the US has veto on peace. France and Germany would have to confront the US and tell the US if it doesn't agree to the peace plan, France and Germany would go ahead and trade with Russia any way. But France and Germany are light years away from having the guts to do that. Besides Germany has the Green. Baerbock famously said, she doesn't what german voters think, she supports Ukraine.
