  3. Taiwan's biggest trade partner is China. A majority of Taiwanese have relatives in China. 1 million taiwanese were living and working in China (out of 23M). The two sides were getting along fine, trading, making money. But that was against US neocon policy that sees China as a threat to the imperial empire of the US. And US propaganda have convinced most americans but a much smaller % of Taiwanese they should be enemies. In the last annual poll around may, > 85% do not want Taiwan to declare independence in the near future.

  7. Taiwanese people should look at Ukraine. Russia attacked because the US said Ukraine will join NATO and US will put Nukes in Ukraine. China will attack if Taiwan declares independence. Ukraine is close to losing the war and losing everything. The US can't supply affordable surface-air missiles to shoot down the Shahed 136s. Ukraine, in its desparation bombed Poland to draw NATO into war with Russia. And NATO's response? we don't want a war with Russia, period full stop. Ukraine will not be able to resupply its troops if 80~90% of its cities don't have electrcity. The US and NATO will not intervene. But worse after it's over no one will have the money to help Ukraine rebuild. 100,000 to 150,000 casualties in the war and what did this sacrifice bring? decades of poverty and begging the US and Europe for assistance. This war did not have to happen, if Ukraine were to be neutral. A war between China dn Taiwan does not have to happen. Only the warmongers neocons wanted the war in Ukraine and in Taiwan.

  9. The ROC doesn't take the ROC military seriously. Young Taiwanese men won't volunteer. They have a draft and after entering they serve 4 months. And there are lots of exemptions. Ukraine's soldiers are not volunteers either (except the neo-nazis.). Let's hope the Taiwanese people look at Ukraine and don't fall for the warmonger propaganda from the US neocons.

  10. Taiwan has a number of drones. One is like the US Predator. But the other one with delta wings look just like the now infamous Iranian Shahed 136 drone. We know Taiwan is a manufacturing powerhouse. Are they selling them to Russia? Ukraine is having a tough time shooting these down. But most likely China and Taiwan have cheap missiles that can shoot down these Shahed 136 clones.

  12. A french tv channel says there is a rumor that Pelosi will go to Taiwan via Phillipines. But it it weren't for provocations by the US China and Taiwan has had both peaceful and economically fruitful relations for decades. The US provocation of Russia to invade Ukraine turned Ukraine into a battleground between two superpowers and has led to the destruction of Ukraine. The US NEOCONs would not hesitate to throw Taiwan under the Bus if they through it would help in containing China.

Something really dramatic has to happen to change this political death spiral. That something? A war. Or some similar crisis bigger than Ukraine. But the bigger goal of US NEOCONS is to provoke China into invading Taiwan to recreate the Ukraine situation to allow the US to wage a full economic war against China.

  15. Maybe but maybe the Iranian drones were really manufactured in Taiwan, shipped to Iran where Iran put a label made in Russia on them before shipping them to Russia.   19. What's happening in Ukraine should be studied carefully in Taiwan. US Gen Milley said Ukraine should negotiate with Russia it can't win the war. Ukraine ended up as the battleground for a proxy war between Russia and the US. And the tragic consequences are starting to unfold. This is what happens to a country that is used and then dumped by the US neocons. Zelensky is in a panic, so much that he lobbed a missile into Poland to draw NATO into the war. Didn't work. US sent 2 NASAM batteries to Ukraine. But the ~30 or so missiles might as well be popcorn for the 2,400 Iran ian drones. Zelensky politically can't negotiate with Russia. He'll be replaced by the US with another puppet. But another ~50,000 Ukrainian solders will have died and 80% of the electrical grid destroyed. The full impact will be felt when the US ony donates a token amount to help rebuild Ukraine.

So Nancy will come to the rescue and start a major incident with China even larger than the Ukraine war to save the democratic party. One has to ask the question, how does this trip help Nancy Pelosi? How does poking China in the eye help Nancy Pelosi 4 months before the mid-terms? To start a major incident to save her job as speaker, is the only answer I can come up with.

  21. A few days ago an opinion piece on Fox talked about the danger to US hegemony if China gains control of TSMC. Others have hinted that the US would Bomb TSMC is China invades. In one white paper by the uS army war college, it was suggested that Bombing TSMC would remove one of the reasons, for China to invade. Given the US bombing of NordStream, the bombing of TSMC should be taken seriously. It has been reported that the US has discussed this with Pres Tsai. Tsai's team said bombing TSMC was not necessary. But is the threat of US bombing TSMC behind TSMC's building a fab in Ariz? Is the threat behind Tsai's trip to the US?
