  1. American business would like predictability but with the neocons levying one sanction or export ban after another, how can there be predictability? In fact the sanctions are designed to desrupt or even destroy specific companies or businesses in China. China hitting back of course is what the neocons want because that make China decouple as the US decouples. But China has no choice but to levy sanctions that hurt US businesses. They can't be a punching bag for ever. So while many US businesses are resisting decoupling, unless they can exert some control over the neocons, decoupling will happen. And so far US businesses are unwilling to exert any pressure on the neocons. Perhaps one approach is to target a very few but large businesses, and put them out of business. When they start howling the neocons will want to ramp up the sanctions. To first order they don't care if US businesses go bankrupt, to the neocons wanting to do business with China is acting like a traitor. Just as the death of Ukrainians don't phase the neocons, neocons are willing to sacifice US businesses and workers.
