  1. Gallagher: we put banned US firms from buying from Huawei back in 2012. In 2019 Huawei was banned from all business with US companies and G7 companies. We've sanctioned 1000 companies in China. So China is using coercive economic practices. Both congressmen know that China does not want to invade Taiwan and would take military action only if Taiwan declared independence at the insistance of the US . And that military action would be a blockade, of Taiwan chip exports to the G7. Gallagher is looking for any possible way to hurt China economically (or militarily except a full nuclear war) but is frustrated that most of his actions actually hurt the US economy more than the Chinese ecoonmy. Such as when Intel said it would stop construction of its 20B chip fab in Ohio if there were more sanctions against selling advanced chips to China. Both are also extremely frustrated that Ukraine is losing the war badly. Sy Hersh's article quoting his sources in the Intel community saying Russia has won, is more than frustrating for these two congressmen. The question is will they take more action that harms Americans more than either Russia or China in a fit of rage and frustration.
