  25.  @presidentmerkinmuffley6769  untrue, after stoner sold the rights to the ar-10 colt came out woth the ar-15 FOR THE CIVILIAN MARKET as a modern varmint rifle while the army was dithering around with the ar-10. the army saw and liked them and had colt militarize them. the ar-15 came before the m-16.
