  1. Agreed. The lack of a genuinely self interested anti-neocon right is one of the main problems with British conservatism. The Republicans in the US might still be dominated by neocon warmongers, but at least they've had a significant influx of "America First" candidates since Trump. In Britain on the other hand, I can't think of a single Tory MP who isn't a cheerleader for the American Empire. (Since that's what the "collective West" really is. We should focus most of our military spending on the Royal Navy and use it to protect British shipping (which we should refocus on) but aside from that we only need an air force and army designed for prevention against invasion. A defence policy that rakes advantage of being an island nation.
