  7. On Jan 21, the same day the first case was confirmed, what he actually said is nuanced and requires nuanced understanding. People are not doing that so they deflect from Trump. The emphasis should be on "right now" , "obviously you need to take this seriously" etc. He probably should have elaborated on the plans in place by cdc and dhs in these cases; when to shift from containment to mitigation.   10. Jan 21 Fauci said we dont have to worry RIGHT NOW but also said "obviously you need to take it seriously". Its nuanced. Heres the full statement.  “Obviously you need to take it seriously and do the kinds of things that the CDC and the Department of Homeland Security are doing. But this is not a major threat to the people in the United States, and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.” He probably should have explained in more detail what cdc and dgs plans were; how things go from containment to mitigation.
