Oh, you beat me too it---I was going to say that, which is the undenialble TRUTH. It is also, part of a deliberate ploi ,to shape society. British Humour, in particular, has ALWAYS, been bawdy, edgy, naughty, witty, and bloodywell FUNNY. There is no replacement for it. Hence the peurile forced attempts, by the media (BBC in particular) with pathetic failed attempts, AND trial remakes ,of GREAT and SUCCESSFUL old favourites---minus the humour of course. Funny ?MY ARSE !

EXCELLENT discussion, I'm sorry it had to end. They all said the right things EXCEPT, it's the BBC MANAGEMENT, at ALL levels, including and especially, their so-called NEWS? department, who should all, be thrown out and GUTTED from top to bottem -WHY ? because they are ALL, irredeemably Neo-Communist in thought and action, and always will be. It needs to be politically neutral, and run by open-minded people, like the great BBC Director General , Sir Hugh Greene. 1960--9. and Bill Cotton. these men always put first, what the general public wanted. They had an instinct for it, and encouraged new ideas, much of it controvertial, even in the sixties. Politics, Genda , etc etc and all this modern ludicrous bullshit irrelevance, wasn't even considered. Was it good ? clever? funny? will it be viewd by all the family, THAT was the criteria. And, if it was ''adult' in content, a watershed time was set, which, with warnings, passed the moral choice to the parents, where it belonged. GOOD OLD DAYS.
