  1. Think this storm was bad? Homes can be re-built. Lives cannot. The 1926 hurricane that struck Miami killed 372 people. In 1928, the Okeechobee hurricane alone killed 2,500 people! Between 1860 and 1900 Florida had 173 hurricanes that collectively killed 6,504 people. This was well before anyone was talking about 'climate change!'
