"Protection against the thing that we don't even know if you need protecting against, is very low with just two shots." Tell you what, work out if we NEED protecting before asking us to put more shit into our blood.

@MrDeadhead1952 I'm quite willing to be guided by the science and evidence. When they provide some, I'll respect it. In the meantime, how about not running around like Chicken Little?

@fioredeutchmark "You wouldn’t ever want a situation where an ICU wasn’t operating at such a level otherwise it would cease to be relevant and be closed," Oh that's a very interesting point I had not considered. "This variant is literally nature’s way of introducing a live vaccine" Maybe, but you make it sound as though nature is working to an intelligent purpose. "nature" doesn't care if mankind gets wiped out or not. "dumb dumb nations that locked down" Oh dear, and there our opnions diverge. So many people died even WITH lockdown, and referring back to your earlier comment about capacity ICUs, if the virus had been allowed to spead unfettered, it would have been infinitely worse. The natural world is punctuated by mass die-offs; I'd rather the human race not be one of them.

@hgbnkbggj2915 I agree with you 100%, but do we know tht Omicron is even PUTTING people in hospital, especiall with so many people already vaccinated?

@hgbnkbggj2915 Messaging is everything. People have "disaster fatigue" and are already turning off, especially in light of the constant governmental transgressions of their own rules which undermines everyone's faith that the statistics are as bad as they have been portrayed. At every stage, the government's messaging has been fuzzy, contradictory and confusing. A massive over-reaction now EVEN AS YOU TELL PEOPLE THAT YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER IT'S AS LETHAL, only harms public confidence, and the likelihood of compliance, especially given the importance many people place upon gatherings at this time of year.

@hgbnkbggj2915 "there has to be an element of trust in what the virologists are saying" When they became political operatives, that trust was severely eroded, and given that they ALWAYS talk about the worst case scenario, I don't think they warrant unquestioning trust. "What they are saying is mostly unanimous and very concerning" they are saying that existing vaccines MAY not be work. They are also saying that it spreads much faster. They are not weighing in on its severity. If it does NOT even hospitalse, why should we care? " Public fatigue to the science of covid study is irrelevant." Absolutely 100% wrong. As a recent post stated, "Rulers can only rule, when the population agrees to be ruled." ALL public covid compliance depence upon the good will of the public. When the government is repeatedly seen not to even follow its OWN supposedly critical rules, why would anyone else? "You and I are simply not educated enough to weigh in on this" Yet we are being asked to trust a medical community that has REPEATEDLY failed mankind and behaved with abysmal ethics. Just look up the Tuskegee study. We are being given information in the hope of convincing us, so clearly the GOVERNMENT believes taht we SHOULD be persuaded, despite its piss poor persuasion.
